Overview of the Saunders County 911 Center

The Saunders County 911 Center is a department within the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office.  The 911 Center provides emergency and non-emergency call handling and dispatch services for the Saunders Sheriff’s Office, the Wahoo Police Department (after hours), the Ashland Police Department (after hours), and the Yutan and Ceresco Police Departments, as well as for the following Saunders County

The 911 Center is staffed by a team of highly trained Public Safety Dispatchers. There is a team of approximately 10 Public Safety Dispatchers that ensure the Center is properly staffed 24/7.  They are trained to handle a wide variety of law, fire, and EMS calls for service.  The team is responsible for receiving and processing calls from our citizens and dispatching the right help to the right place in the right amount of time.

When Should I Call 911?

  • Any Fire Emergency
  • Any Medical Emergency
  • Crime in Progress
  • Injury Traffic Accident
  • Suspicious/Criminal Activity
  • Fight/Disturbance

Non-emergencies:

If you are calling to report a crime that has already occurred, or to ask a question, please call the non-emergency number: (402) 443-1000. This direct number to the dispatch center is available 24 hours a day to handle calls for Police, Fire, and EMS in Saunders County. Some examples of times when it is appropriate to use the non-emergency number are:

  • Lost/Stolen Property
  • Noise Complaint
  • Illegal Parking
  • Past Offences/Crime Report
  • Minor Traffic Accident
