Work Will Begin on Touhy Northwest Project, Near Valparaiso, NE in Saunders County
06/26/2024 (Wahoo, NE) – Weather permitting, work will begin July 8, 2024, on County Road 31 between County Road G and H.
Dixon Construction of Correctionville, Iowa is the contractor for this project. Work includes a full bridge replacement over North Oak Creek. Saunders County is replacing a 108 ft steel through truss bridge with a 3-span 130 ft continuous concrete slab bridge. The road will be closed to the public during construction of the bridge. Anticipated completion is November of 2024.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
Work Will Begin on County Road 6 and Cooper Road in Saunders County, West of Ashland
06/20/2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin June 26 on County Road 6/Cooper Road in Saunders County, from Cooper Road to Ashland Road, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Next Phase Environmental, Inc. of Underwood, Iowa is the contractor for this project. Work includes grading for wetland seeding and fencing. County road traffic will be maintained with a shoulder closure in place. A minimum 22-foot roadway width will be maintained on the county roads. Anticipated completion is Nov. 2024.

Work Will Begin on Touhy West Project, Near Valparaiso, NE in Saunders County
02/09/2024 (Wahoo, NE) – Weather permitting, work will begin February 19, 2024, on County Road G between County Road 30 and 31.
Dixon Construction of Correctionville, Iowa is the contractor for
this project. Work
includes a full bridge replacement over North Oak Creek and Hunters
Slough.
Saunders County is replacing a 132 ft steel through truss bridge
with a 4-span 175 ft continuous concrete slab bridge. The road will
be closed to the public during
construction of the bridge. Anticipated completion is September of
2024.
